While I like high end makeup or makeup-exclusive brands, if there are more economic options in the market that work just as well you bet I'm going to be all over that.

Years ago, three or four years, I discovered the Innisfree No-Sebum Mineral Powder and when I went to Seoul for some months, as I was searching for the best affordable Korean under eye concealer I decided to also search for the best affordable Korean loose powder. One of the main reasons was that I tried the The Saem Saemmul Perfect Pore Powder and I was like "wait, this is also good!".


A pesar de me gusta el maquillaje de gama alta y marcas exclusivas de maquillaje, si hay opciones más económicas en el mercado que funcionan igual de bien puedes apostar que voy a inclinarme hacia ellos.

Hace años, tres o cuatro años, descubrí el No-Sebum Mineral Powder de Innisfree y cuando estuve viviendo en Seúl durante un par de meses, a la vez que buscado los mejores correctores asequibles coreanos decidí buscar también los mejores polvos fijadores asequibles coreanos. Una de las mayores razones fue que cuando probé el Saemmul Pore Powder de The Saem pensé "espera, ¡si éste también es bueno!".

So the same way I tried concealers for a long time, I tried loose powders for a long time and decided on these four because as similar as they are, they all have something different that make them good for different occasions. By the way, all of these have a lot in common but the most obvious things is that they all have the same quantity of product and are being sold at the same price. I have seriously never seen a more competitive market than the Korean one.


Así que de la misma forma que probé correctores durante mucho tiempo, probé durante mucho diferentes polvos y decidí que estos cuatro porque, a pesar de ser todos bastante parecidos, todos tienen diferente para diferentes ocasiones. • They come with a puff that I like using to apply it on the under eyes, except for when I'm baking (which I only do when I know I'm going to be outside of the house for a very long time) that I use my Beauty Blender.

• All of these mattify skin so if you have dry skin you shouldn't really use them, as they will be a little bit drying.
  Todo estos matifican la piel así que si tienes la piel seca no recomiendo usarlos, pueden ser un poco secos.
• They claim to have "special ingredients", some tea tree, other peach etc to control the sebum production and help with the skin but... let's be real, this is makeup, not skincare.
  Algunos de estos dicen tener "ingredientes especiales", algunos árbol de té, otros melocotón etc para controlar la producción de sebo y ayudar con la piel pero... seamos realistas, esto es maquillaje, no productos de cuidado de la piel.
• All of these contain silica as ingredient the first/second ingredient, so do not bake with them if you're going to take photos with flash- it will have flashback.

• I used the Clio Kill Cover Pro Artist Liquid Concealer to take photos of all of the powders.

If you follow kbeauty in any way, the Innisfree No-Sebum Mineral Powder is the most famous powder without doubts. I've been using it for years, and although it's not my absolutely top favorite, I still love it.

The Innisfree No-Sebum Mineral Powder is a very fine powder, but I don't think it's as fine as people say. When I first started using this about three years ago I didn't understand the hype because the way I apply setting powder is with light touches, and this didn't look good like that. But I decided to buff it once and it looks amazing. It takes a little bit of time to work it and a light hand to not end up looking cakey, but it's very pretty.

El Innisfree No-Sebum Mineral Powder es un polvo muy fino, pero no creo que lo sea tanto como la gente dice. Cuando lo empecé a usar hace unos tres años no entendía la fama porque suelo aplicar el los polvos en pequeños toques, y éste no queda nada bonito haciéndolo así. Pero un día me dio por "pulirlo" (aplicarlo en movimientos circulares pequeños) y queda genial. Lleva un poco más de trabajo para que no se vea feo ("cakey" en inglés), pero es muy bonito.

While I like using it with my cushion foundations, I don't like to use it with semi-mat or matte foundations because it will cake up the face in like 3-4 hours. I also don't like to use it with liquid concealer, it grabs onto it very weirdly.

While I love the smooth finish it gives to the skin, it isn't translucent, it whitens me quite a bit and I'm already pale as hell. It smells to me like Innisfree stores, but it fades on the skin.

A pesar de que me encanta el acabado fino que me da, no es translúcido y me deja bastante blanca, y ya lo soy de por sí. A mí me huele como las tiendas de Innisfree, pero al rato se va yendo de la piel.

Recommended for/application: cushion glowy foundations, don't use it over liquid concealer. Light hand and buff it, don't press it. Not for baking.

The The Saem Saemmul Perfect Pore Powder is probably (at least for me) a dupe for the Innisfree one, but I like it a lot more than the previous one. It's the most expensive out of the bunch but they are almost always on sale.

El Saemmul Perfect Pore Powder de The Saem es probablemente (por lo menos para mí) un dupe del Innisfree, pero me gusta mucho más que ése. Es el más caro del grupo pero casi siempre está en rebajas.

The The Saem Saemmul Perfect Pore Powder is very very fine, more than the No-Sebum Mineral Powder, but the holes on the plastic lid are terrible: too small and not sparse enough. As a result, the powder usually comes all at once. What I do is put it on the cap, grab a little bit of product with the brush and then swirl the brush on the area whit the holes, so it gets distributed homogeneously on the brush.

El Saemmul Perfect Pore Powder de The Saem es muy muy fino, más que el No-Sebum Mineral Powder, pero los agujeros del plástico son terribles: demasiado pequeños y no lo suficientemente separados. Por lo tanto, el polvo por lo general sale de golpe. Lo que hago es ir echar polvo en la tapa, cojo un poco de producto en la brocha y luego muevo por donde los agujeros, de forma que se distribuya bien.

I find that either patting or buffing, the The Saem Saemmul Perfect Pore Powder looks amazing, although a little bit unnatural because of how much it smooths the skin.

However, and this is very weird, I can't use it with my favorite concealer, the Clio Kill Cover Pro Artist Liquid Concealer. Or with any other liquid concealers for that matter (it looks good with cream or stick concealers). While the Innisfree one leaves them looking weird, this one oxidizes liquid type concealers a lot.

The first ingredient is Aluminum starch octenylsuccinate, which absorbes oils, and seconds one is silica, which again, can cause flashback if it isn't blended. It doesn't have a strong scent, it just smells like powder.

El primer ingrediente es Aluminum starch octenylsuccinate, que absorbe aceites, y el segundo es silica que, de nuevo, puede causar flashback si no está bien trabajado. No tiene un olor fuerte, a mí me huele como polvo.

Recommended for/application: any type of makeup, don't use it with liquid concealers. Buffing looks better, but tapping also looks good. Not for baking.

For the Skinfood Peach Cotton Multi Finish Powder I got the biggest size (15g) because it was the only one being sold at the airport's duty free. This was all the rave last year/beginning of this year, so I was very excited to finally try it.

Para el Peach Cotton Multi finish Powder de Skinfood tengo el tamaño más grande (15g) porque era el único que vendían en el duty free del aeropuerto. Tuvo bastante fama hacia el final de año pasado/principio de éste, así que me hizo ilusión poder probarlo por fin.

First things first: yes, the Skinfood Peach Cotton Multi Finish Powder does smell like peaches. I like it because it fades rather quickly from the skin, but it can get a little bit overwhelming if you work with it closely to your face. I noticed than when first applied it looks really really white, but then it adapts to the skin (the more you work it onto the skin the better).

Antes de nada: sí, el Peach Cotton Multi finish Powder de Skinfood sí huele a melocotón. Que me gusta porque se va bastante rápido, pero sí que puede ser un poco demasiado si trabajas con el cerca de la cara. También me he dado cuenta que nada más aplicarlo parece muy blanco, pero luego se adapta a la piel (y cuando más lo trabajes en la piel mejor).

While the holes to dispense the product aren't as terrible as the ones from The Saem's one, the Skinfood Peach Cotton Multi Finish Powder's could be more sparse because I feel like they are too near to each other and the powder comes out "in batches" after having to shake the jar (which usually gets me covered in powder).

While I understand why people rave about it, I wouldn't recommend using the Skinfood Peach Cotton Multi Finish Powder with matte foundation because it cakes them up. I normally use for under eye concealer, because it looks beautiful, and when I'm wearing a non-matte foundation (usually cushions) and I wan't a smooth look but not as much as the Innisfree or The Saem powder provide.

A pesar de que entiendo su fama, no recomiendo usar éste Peach Cotton Multi finish Powder de Skinfood con bases de maquillaje mates porque las "apelmaza". Normalmente lo uso en la zona de la ojera, porque queda preciosa, y cuando llevo una base que no sea mate (por lo general cushions) y no quiero un look tan "fino", "satinado" como el de Innisfree o The Saem.

Last one but not least is the Pore Master Sebum Control Powder by Aritaum, also in the standard 5g. I wasn't planning on buying it, in fact I didn't even know it existed until I saw it in an Aritaum store and kind of loved it trying it there.

Por último pero no menos importante está el Pore Master Sebum Control Powder de Aritaum, también en el standard de 5g. No estaba planeando comprarlo, ni siquiera sabía que existía hasta que lo vi en una tienda de Aritaum y me enamoré un poco al probarlo allí.

I would say this right between the Innisfree and The Saem one as long as performance goes, but the powder is the finest of all of them. When I tap the "body" against the cap to get product out there's usually a dust cloud that usually ends in my pants.

Diría que éste está a medio camino entre el de Innisfree y el de The Saem en cuando a cómo "funciona" en la piel, pero respecto al polvo es el más fino de todos. Cuando sacudo el "cuerpo" contra la tapa para sacar producto por lo general crea una nube de polvo que suele acabar en mis pantalones.

Aritaum Pore Master Sebum Control Powder review

Since it is so fine, it's similar to the Skinfood Peach Cotton Multi Finish Powder, although this one is more mattifying and good with either glowy/dewy foundations or matte ones. With the first kind of foundations the application isn't that important and looks good even lightly tapping, but with the matte ones it's best to buff it.

Al ser tan fino, es parecido al Skinfood Peach Cotton Multi Finish Powder, aunque éste es más matificante y queda bien con bases más jugosas o con las mates. Con el primer tipo de bases la aplicación no es tan importan y queda bien independientemente de la técnica, incluso a golpecitos, pero con las mates es mejor trabajarlo.

Aritaum Pore Master Sebum Control Powder

I haven't experience any problem of it oxidizing liquid concealers, but the problem I usually encounter is that the powder it's too fine, being very easy to apply a lot of it and there creating a too-matte look which looks cakey in about 2 hours. Once you get the right amount of product for your skin and the finish you want, this is a beautiful powder that leaves skin feeling smooth and matte, without oiliness coming through even after hours.

No he tenido la experiencia de que oxide los correctores líquidos, pero el problema que sí suelo encontrar es que al ser un polvo tan fino, es muy fácil aplicar de más, creando como resultado un look demasiado mate y que puede empezar a quedar feo hacia las 2 horas. Una vez que encuentras la cantidad de producto para tu piel y el acabado que deseas, este polvo queda precioso, dejando la piel suave y mate, sin ningún tipo de grasa abriéndose paso ni siquiera después de horas.

As you've read, I use them for different occasions or looks I want, but I think if I had to select an absolute favorite it would be a tie between de The Saem Saemmul Perfect Pore Powder and the Aritaum Pore Master Sebum Control Powder.

Como habéis leído, me gusta usarlos para diferentes ocasiones o dependiendo el resultado que quiera, pero si tuviera que elegir un favorito sería un empate entre el Saemmul Perfect Pore Powder de The Saem y el Pore Master Sebum Control Powder de Aritaum.
