On the second time I found myself buying in the Naruko US Website (because let's be real, you find yourself in an online store, almost by chance) I was also low on sheet masks, so I decided to buy some. As you probably know I have oily and acne prone skin, so I decided to give a chance to these Naruko Tea Tree Shine Control & Blemish Clear Mask, targeted towards skins like mine.


La segunda vez que me encontré comprando en la tienda online de EEUU de Naruko  (porque a ver, es la verdad que te encuentras en una tienda online de repente) también me quedaban pocas mascarillas, así que decidí comprar algunas. Como probablemente sepáis tengo la piel grasa y acnéica, así que decidí dar una oportunidad a éstas Tea Tree Shine Control & Blemish Clear Mask de Naruko, dirigidas a pieles como las mías.

The Naruko Tea Tree Shine Control & Blemish Clear Mask are sheet masks specially thought for acne prone skins, since their main benefit is that they "cleanses pores and balances sebum production while providing hydration to reduce blemishes and post blemish marks". The brand claims that these masks do a lot of things:

• Absorbs excess oil and prevent appearance of acne.
• Balances oil and water secretion.
• Deeply cleans pores from the inside out, and prevents de appearance of acne.
• Softens and metabolizes cuticle to open pores.
• Effectively hydrates skin to make it soft.
• Tightens pores and maintains skin's elasticity.
• Reduces skin dullness.
• Soothes skin.

Las Tea Tree Shine Control & Blemish Clear Mask de Naruko son mascarillas especialmente pensadas para gente con piel acnéica, ya que su principal beneficio es que limpian los poros y equilibra la producción de sebo a la vez que provee hidratación y reduce los granos y las marcas que dejan. La marca asegura que éstas mascarillas hacen varías cosas:

• Absorbe el exceso de aceite y previene la apariencia dela acné.
• Equilibra sebo y secreción de agua.
• Limpia los poros en profundidad desde el interior, y previene la aparición del acné.
• Suaviza y metaboliza las cutículas para abrir los poros.
• Hidrata efectivamente la piel para dejarla suave.

The Naruko Tea Tree Shine Control & Blemish Clear Mask come in a cupboard box that is not closed entirely because, as it's also the case with the Tea Tree Shine Control & Blemish Clear Serum, the box is reusable (as you can see in the photos below). It also comes with a leaflet that -color my surprised- come also in Spanish! Broken Spanish, but it's better than nothing. I'm just so used to only reading things in English that I was pleasantly surprised. There are other languages too, which I think shows the inclusiveness of the brand, and the willingness to reach a big audience.


Las Tea Tree Shine Control & Blemish Clear Mask de Naruko vienen en una caja de cartón que no está cerrada en su totalidad, como es el caso también del Tea Tree Shine Control & Blemish Clear Serum, ya que la caja es reutilizable (como se puede ver en las fotos más adelante). También viene con un "panfletillo" que, para mi sorpresa, ¡viene en castellano! Castellano chapucero, pero es mejor que nada. Estoy tan acostumbrada a leer éstas cosas sólo en inglés que me sorprendió para bien. Hay también otros idiomas, que creo que demuestra la inclusividad de la marca, y la predisposición de llegar a una audiencia mayor.

As with the other products I've tried from the brand, the ingredient list for the Naruko Tea Tree Shine Control & Blemish Clear Mask is very promising. You can read them in the photo, but the brand highlights in the website some of them:

• Salicylic Acid: it helps skin metabolism and softens cuticle.
• Saw Palmetto: balances water and oil secretion.
• Witch Hazel Extract: soothes and balances skin to reduce discomfort.
• Tranexamic Acid: brightens skin, improves dull complexion and prevent skin dullness.
• Hyaluronic Acid: an active moisturizing ingredient that maintain hydration in the skin.
• Tea Tree Oil: effectively cleanses skin.
• Lentil Seed Extract: rich in oligose, helps balance oil, refines pores and maintain normal metabolism of cuticle. It works well with collagen and tightens the skin.
• Piroctone Olamine: prevents appearance of acne.
• Mentha Piperita Oil: soothes and softens skin, giving it a cool feeling.
• Pore-refining factor: and ingredient made by the brand, compound of litchi extract and oleanolic acid. It balances oil secretion and cleans and unclog pores, also tightening the skin.
• Phytoferulin: a combination of Coptis Chinensis Franch (a plant that's very used in chine traditional medicine) with 10 concentrated plan extracts, to enhance the skin's defense against external harm, revitalizing the skin from the inside out.

Como con otros productos que he probado de la marca, la lista de ingredientes para las Tea Tree Shine Control & Blemish Clear Mask de Naruko es muy prometedora. Se pueden leer en la foto, pero la marca destaca en la página web algunos de los ingredientes:

• Ácido Salicílico: ayuda al metabolismo de la piel y ablanda la cutícula. 
• Saw Palmetto: equilibra la secreción de sebo y agua.
• Extracto de Hamamelis: calmas y equilibra la piel para disminuir la incomodidad.
• Ácido tranexámico: ilumina la piel, mejora el aspecto y previene la piel apagado.
• Ácido hialurónico: un activo humectante que mantiene la hidratación en la piel.
• Aceite de Árbol de Té: limpia la piel efectivamente.
• Extracto de semilla de lenteja: rico en oligosa, ayuda a equilibrar el aceite, clarificar los poros y mantener un metabolismo normal para la cutícula. Trabaja con el colágeno y reafirma la piel.
• Piroctone Olamine: previene la aparación del acné.
• Aceite de menta pipereta: calma y suaviza la piel, dándole una sensación de frescor.
• Factor purificador de poros: un ingrediente creado por la marca, un conjunto de extracto de litchi y ácido oleanólico. Equilibra la secreción de aceite y limpia y desobstruye los poros, reafirmando la piel.
• Phytoferulin: una combinación de Coptis Chinensis Franch (una planta muy usada en la medicina tradicional china) con 10 extractos concentrados de plantas, para mejorar la defensa de la piel ante daños externos, revitalizando la piel desde el interior.

The Naruko Tea Tree Shine Control & Blemish Clear Mask are black cotton masks. These were my second black cotton masks, first ones being these, and I still don't know the difference between black cotton and regular white cotton. As in, if it actually make a difference.

Before going any further with my opinion on these, I just need to get this out of my chest: these masks stink. I read a lot on instagram that to people they smell like tea tree, so I was preparing myself because I hate that smell but these do not smell like tea tree to me at all. So what do they smell like to me? This is going to be super specific but it's a usual smell for me so: have you ever been in a winery, where wine is store in large metal containers? Well, if you've been you know the strong smell of fermented grapes that is similar to wine but not exactly the same. Well, these Naruko Tea Tree Shine Control & Blemish Clear Mask smell exactly like that to me. The first time I thought I was crazy so I even went to my mom to make her smell it and she confirmed it. I don't know where people are getting the "tea tree smell", but at least not from the 8 ones that I used.


Las Tea Tree Shine Control & Blemish Clear Mask de Naruko son mascarillas de algodón negro. Éstas fueron mis segundas mascarillas así, las primeras siendo éstas, y  todavía no sé la diferencia entre las mascarillas de algodón negro y las comunes de algodón blanco. Quiero decir, que no sé si en realidad son diferentes además de en el color.

Antes de seguir con mi opinión como tal, necesito comentaros algo que llevo aguantando desde que he empezado ésta entrada: huelen a fatal. He leído a bastante gente en instagram que les huelen como a árbol de té, y es un olor que no me gusta por lo que me estaba preparando para ello, pero para mí no huelen así ni de lejos. ¿Qué cómo me huelen? Va a ser súper específico pero es un olor común para mí así que: ¿habéis estado alguna vez en una bodega en donde almacenan el vino en tanques metálicos? Bueno, si habéis estado ya sabéis a que olor me refiero, el olor fuerte de uvas fermentadas parecido a cómo huele el vino pero no completamente igual. Bueno, pues las Tea Tree Shine Control & Blemish Clear Mask de Naruko me huelen exactamente igual. La primera vez que me puse una pensaba que estaba loca e incluso fui donde mi madre para que me lo confirmara, cosa que hizo. No sé cómo la gente huele a "olor de árbol de té" pero yo no lo encontré en las 8 que usé.

Leaving the smell in a corner and forgetting about it (it fades while wearing the mask), I actually really like these Naruko Tea Tree Shine Control & Blemish Clear Mask. I rarely have even a pimple nowadays but I really liked how these felt on the skin. Afterwards my skin would be fresh, like when I first wash it after removing makeup. What I'm not crazy about them is that they only last for about 30 minutes before they start drying, I usually like to wear sheet masks longer, but it's actually good for me to have these as quick masks.


Dejando a un lado de olor y más bien olvidándonos de ello (ya que se atenúa a medida que está puesta), la verdad es que me encantan las Tea Tree Shine Control & Blemish Clear Mask de Naruko. En rara ocasión me sale ya algún grano pero me gusta mucho la sensación que me daba llevarlas. Al retirarlas la piel estaba fresca, como está cuando me la limpio después de desmaquillarme. Lo que no me encanta tanto es que apenas duran 30 minutos antes de que empiecen a secarse, y normalmente me gusta llevar las mascarillas durante más tiempo, aunque la verdad es que me viene bien tener unas "mascarillas rápidas".

What I really love about the Naruko Tea Tree Shine Control & Blemish Clear Mask is their packaging, to be honest. It's obvious from their packaging that the company put thought on it, making it reusable, as they did with he Tea Tree Shine Control & Blemish Clear Serum. As you can see by the photos, cutting in the lines an following the very easy instructions, results in a small box that I now use to store samples.


Lo que me gusta mucho de las Tea Tree Shine Control & Blemish Clear Mask de Naruko es su embalaje, la verdad. Es obvio por éste que la compañía ha pensado mucho en ello, haciéndolo reutilizable, como también hicieron con el Tea Tree Shine Control & Blemish Clear Serum. Como se puede ver en las fotos, al cortar por las líneas y siguiendo las muy fáciles instrucciones, se consigue una cajita pequeña que ahora uso para guardas las muestras.

I'd love to have the Naruko Tea Tree Shine Control & Blemish Clear Mask as a staple in my routine, to use 2-3 times a weeks and maintain breakouts out of sight. I think they are also great masks for those suffering from acne.


Me encantaría tener las Tea Tree Shine Control & Blemish Clear Mask de Naruko como algo fijo en mi rutina, para usar 2 ó 3 veces a las semana y mantener los granitos a raya. Creo que también pueden ser mascarillas muy buenas para gente que sufra de acné activo.

They are not at that price while I'n writing this but you can still buy them here. Their regular price is 35$ but they always have some kind of ongoing sale.

No están a ese precio mientras escribo esto, pero se pueden comprar aquí. Su precio es de 35$, pero siempre tienen algún tipo de rebaja o descuento.
