Being totally honest with you, even if I use a lot of skincare products from all over Asia, for makeup I tend to stick with western brands because they offer what I look for (except for BB Cushions, obviously). But after so many under eye concealer failed me, the only ones that working for me are the very expensive ones, and taking advantage that I was in Seoul for a while, I turned to affordable Korean brands to see what they had to offer and... color me surprised, but there are a lot of them that work great.

I had clear in my mind what I was searching for while a I tried different concealers in stores for a whole day of wear because, yes, I would literally go in store to put them on and get out (and I wasn't even shameful about it, I saw girls doing full face makeup at stores without buying anything):


Siendo totalmente sincera, a pesar de que uso muchos productos de cuidado de la piel de todo Asia, para el maquillaje suelo quedarme con marcas de occidente porque ofrecen lo que busco (salvo las BB Cushion, claro). Pero después de que me hayan fallado tanto correctores, los únicos que me fueran bien sean los caros, y aprovechando que estaba en Seúl para un tiempo, empecé a ver qué me ofrecían las marcas asequibles de Corea y... sorprendente, pero muchos son geniales.

Tenía claro lo que buscaba mientras probar diferentes correctores en las tiendas y los probaba durante el día porque sí, literalmente entraba a las tiendas a probármelos y salía (y ni me avergonzaba por ello, vi a un montón de chicas maquillarse de 0 sin comprar luego nada):

• They should cover under eye circles fairly easy. That means that the concealer had to have a salmon undertone. || Que cubrieran las ojeras de forma más o menos fácil. Lo que quiere decir que el corrector debía tener un subtono asalmonado.
• No color correctors because those do nothing but to make you waste money (and I'm not the only one, professional makeup artists never use them for a reason). || Que ninguno fuera corrector de color porque no hacen otra cosa que hacerte gastar dinero (y no sólo lo pienso yo, los maquilladores profesionales no los utilizan, por algo será).
• No concealer that would cake. || Ningún corrector que se "apelmazara".
• Would not separate, or react to translucent setting powder. || Que no se separa o reaccionara al usar polvos fijadores.
• Different finishes and applications so I could have a variety of choices for different makeups. || Diferentes consistencias y aplicaciones para tener opciones con diferentes maquillajes.
• Not to be shades lighter than my skin, I don't do the whole concealer and highlighter triangle because I think it looks terrible because personally don't do my makeup like that. || Que no fueran más claros que mi piel, no hago eso del triángulo corrector-iluminador porque me parece que queda horrible porque personalmente no me hago maquillo así.

Innisfree Mineral Stick Concealer

As we say in Spanish, I wasn't betting a lot of money on the Innisfree Mineral Stick concealer, main reason being that they only have two shades, but when I tried in a particular bad under eye day, I was blown away.

Como se dice, no daba un duro por éste Innisfree Mineral Stick Concealer, la mayor de las razones siendo que sólo tienen dos colores, pero cuando lo probé en un día de ojeras particularmente malo, me encantó.

Don't worry, that's not all the product you get, we're not in a KKW Beauty situation here. I don't really understand de 2g thing because the stick is quite large, like the bottom part of the packaging. I also have to say that while I waited to take these pictures to use the previous concealer, I couldn't wait to use this one and the tip is actually very very pretty and shiny upon opening it, exactly as the website photos.

No os preocupéis, eso que se ve no es todo el producto que viene, no estamos en una situación como la de KKW Beauty. No entiendo muy bien lo de los 2g porque la verdad que el "palo" es bastante largo, casi como la parte inferior del tubo. También he de decir que aunque para el anterior corrector pude esperar a usarlo hasta hacer las fotos, con éste no pude. La punta es muy muy bonita y brillante cuando se abre, exactamente como en las fotos de la web.

I apply the Innisfree Mineral Stick Concealer directly on to my skin, where the darkest parts of the dark circles are. Don't roll it out too much, just the minimum so you can work with it, because it will break. The stick is very smooth and creamy doesn't feel like silicone or plastic at all. Don't apply too much, it layers really well, so if you need more coverage just do more fine layers.

Me aplico el Innisfree Mineral Stick Concealer directamente en la piel, donde tengo las partes más oscuras de las ojeras. No hay que sacar mucho el palito, sólo lo mínimo para poder trabajar con ello, porque se rompe. El palo es muy muy suave y cremoso y no da sensaciones de silicona o plástico para nada. No apliques mucho, las capas se dan muy fácil, así que si necesitas más cobertura simplemente ve añadiendo más capas finas.

The only one out of the three (and really out of all concealers in general) that I feel I can wear without setting it with powder. It's also incredible easy to blend even with fingers (in these photos I blended it with a damp Beauty Blender, but when I use it to go out I just do it with my fingers), so I think out of the three, it's the most beginner friendly or the one to use if you're not very good with makeup.

Éste es el único de los tres (y la verdad que de todos los correctores en general) que siento que puedo llevar sin fijar con polvos. Es súper fácil darlo bien incluso con los dedos (en éstas fotos lo he hecho con una Beauty Blender húmeda pero por lo general uso los dedos) así que creo que de los tres, éste es el mejor si has empezado hace poco a maquillarte o no se te da muy bien.

Clio Kill Cover Pro Artist Liquid Concealer

The fact that I left the Clio Kill Cover Pro Artist Liquid Concealer for the last out of the three is totally intentional: this is my favorite under eye concealer. Not only out of Korean brands, but out of all under eye concealer I've tried.

El que haya dejado el Clio Kill Cover Pro Artist Liquid Concealer el último de los tres es totalmente intencionado: éste es mi corrector para la zona de las ojeras favorito. No sólo de marcas coreanas, sino de todos lo que he probado.

Clio Kill Cover Pro Artist Liquid Concealer applicator

The Clio Kill Cover Pro Artist Liquid Concealer is a brush/applicator concealer and it's one of the most famous concealers in South Korea. They have a lot of shades available, and they do not correspond at all with the colors that appear on the website. I was between shade 2 and 3 but eventually bought the shade 2 Lingerie because it had more obvious pink undertones to it. It looks too white when applied, but once it dries down it also darkens. I've also noticed that after some hours it oxidizes, so I make sure to set it with a powder that's not completely translucent.

El Clio Kill Cover Pro Artist Liquid Concealer es un corrector con aplicador que es de los más famosos de Corea. Tienen bastantes tonos para elegir, que no se corresponden para nada con los que tienen en la web. Me debatí entre el 2 y el 3 pero al final compré el 2 Lingerie porque tenía un subtono más obviamente rosa. Parece demasiado blanco al aplicarlo, pero cuando se seca se oscurece. También he notado que después de algunas horas se oxida algo, así que me aseguro de "sellarlo" con polvos que no sean completamente translucidos.

The amount you see on the photos is really what you need to cover your entire under eye area. The Clio Kill Cover Pro Artist Liquid Concealer also layers pretty well, so what I usually do is apply a light swipe, blend it with a damp Beauty Blender (never with my fingers or a brush), and then if I need more coverage in some places I go little by little. In the packaging box it says "only one coat is enough to cover like a professional artist" and I have never agree more with a packaging than with this one.

Lo que veis que me he aplicado en las fotos es más que suficiente para cubrir toda la zona de la ojera. El Clio Kill Cover Pro Artist Liquid Concealer acepta más capas bastante bien, así que lo que suelo hacer es aplicarme una capa fina, trabajarlo con una Beauty Blender húmeda (nunca con los dedos o un pincel), y si necesito más cobertura en algunos sitios voy poquito o poco. En la caja pone que una sola capa es suficiente para cubrir como un artista profesional, y creo que pocas veces habré estado tan de acuerdo con algo en una caja como con esto.

By the way let me get this out of my chest: I firmly believe that the Clio Kill Cover Pro Artist Liquid Concealer is a dupe for the Tarte Shape Tape. I haven't tried the latest, but I watched a lot of youtube videos about it and I think I have a pretty good grasp at how it works, the consistency etc, and I think it's the same as de Clio one. I also don't think this "dupe" was intentional (as a couple of very famous Korean skincare products are), but that a lot of concealers are now being done more pigmented and thicker. As it happens with the Shape Tape, if you apply too much it can cake and grab to the fine lines like crazy, so as I said, it's better to be light handed with it.

Por cierto, dejadme deciros esto: de verdad pienso que el Clio Kill Cover Pro Artist Liquid Concealer es un dupe del Tarte Shape Tape. No he probado ése, pero he visto a tantísima gente por youtube que creo que entiendo bastante bien cómo funciona, su consistencia etc, y creo que es igual que el de Clio. También creo que no es un dupe hecho adrede (como lo son un par de productos coreanos muy famosos), sino que muchos correctores ahora están siendo más pigmentados y gordos. Como pasa con el Shape Tape, si aplicas mucho se puede "apelmazar" y amontonarse en las arrugas naturales de la piel, así que como he dicho, mejor tener una mano ligera con ello.

Por supuesto, no se me ocurriría recomendar éste si eres principiante con el maquillaje, seguramente se te "apelmazara".
