When you start (and continue) getting into korean skincare, you read and heard everywhere about Skinfood's Black Sugar mask. I still haven't try that one, but all their black sugar line is pretty famous, including the "perfect first serum", so of course I had to buy something from them when I went to Seoul.

Ya sea porque se está empezando o porque se lleva mucho tiempo en el "mundillo" de las cremas coreanas, no creo que haya gente que no haya leído sobre el Black Sugar Mask de Skinfood, o toda la línea "Black Sugar". Como no había probado nunca nada de la marca, cuando fui a Seúl por supuesto que me tuve que comprar uno de sus productos estrella- el Black Sugar Perfect First Serum.

I have to be honest: I wasn't too drawn to this brand because of its name and because I wasn't too keen on having a product for my face while having the ingredients for it in my fridge. Getting rid of those prejudices I bought this in store, and now I regret buying only one bottle of it. By the way, Skinfood was the best brand giving samples without doubt: the gave me a ton of samples plus a very cute toilet bag (very handy for handbags).

A decir verdad, nunca me había interesado demasiado la marca, por razones puramente superficiales: por una parte el nombre (significa literalmente piel de comida) y por otra eso de tener en la nevera para comerme los mismo ingredientes que llevan las cremas... pues no. Sin embargo, ahora me arrepiento de haberme comprado sólo ésta botella. por cierto, pequeño paréntesis: Skinfood es sin duda la mejor marca en cuanto a muestra se refiere, me dieron muchísimas, además de un neceser perfecto para el bolso.

The brand claims that you'll achieve a "smoother, clearer complexion" and that it is skin brightening and has anti-wrinkle effects. For merely 21,000 won you buy the bottle (150ml) and a box of pads. These pads are specifically to be used with the serum: as it says in the back of the box, the more granular side is the one to be used to spread the serum all over the face (and neck if desired) and the soft side is used to gently pad the remaining product onto the skin. 

La botella y los algodones se compran junto por 21.000won (17€ aproximadamente). Éstos algodones son específicos para el serum: con la parte más granular se extiende el producto (por la cara y el cuello si se desea) y con la más suave se dan golpecitos para que se absorba en su totalidad. La marca dice que con este producto se consigue una piel más suave y un cutis más limpio, claro, gracias a sus propiedades de iluminación y efectos anti arrugas.

The serum comes in a glass bottle, not the best one to travel. I haven't tossed away that little white thing because you never know what can happen when you travel.

La botella es de cristal, no lo más apto para viajar. El tapón es de rosca, tiene también un taponcito blanco para taponar la salida (que no he tirado, viene muy bien como doble seguridad).

Skinfood's Black Sugar Perfect First Serum is a "first serum"- which, as you probably know, means that it is to be applied after the cleansing step and before applying toner. The product is completely liquid and transparent (although it's maybe just me, but it does have a somehow yellowish color when I put it in pads).

El Black Sugar Perfect First Serum es, como su nombre indica literalmente, un "first serum", es decir: se tiene que aplicar después del limpiador y antes del tónico. De consistencia totalmente líquida, es transparente (aunque al echarlo al algodón yo noto un tono ligeramente amarillento).

Honestly, it does everything they claim. If you're looking for a product that will give you immediate results, this isn't it (at least not for me). But I've seen my skin improving day by day after I started using it and it really give "light" to it. It has become an stable product in my morning skincare routine, and I don't plan to stop using it.

Of course I recommend the Skinfood Black Sugar Perfect First Serum to everyone and I would even say that if you're a lazy person or if you're just getting into all this "korean skincare routine" and don't know what serums to use this one, chose it. I promise it gives live back to the skin.

I just think of two downsides: the scent is somehow strong, although it doesn't stay on the skin (yay!) and the other one is that it has alcohol in it.

Siendo totalmente sincera, éste serum hace exactamente todo lo que dicen. Si se está buscando un producto que ofrezca resultados a corto plazo no es éste, o por lo menos conmigo no ha sido así. He ido notando mejoría en mi piel cada mañana desde que empecé a utilizarlo. Se ha convertido sin duda en un producto indispensable y que no pienso dejar de utilizar.

Ni que decir que recomiendo el Black Sugar Perfect First Serum de Skinfood a todo el mundo, independientemente del tipo de piel que se tenga; pero sobre todo a las personas "vagas" para darse diez producto mañana y noche y a las que han empezado con toda ésta rutina, o que no se puedan permitir muchos productos.

Los únicos "peros" que le pongo son dos: el olor fuerte que tiene una vez sale de la botella (pero que no se queda en la piel) y que tiene un contenido en alcohol bastante alto.

After loving this so much, I'm just eager to try more Skinfood products, to be reeeeaaally honest with you all.
