su:m37 Signature Essence Fine-Moisturizer review

If you've read any of my other entries, it's no secret that I like my skincare products to smell good, with a preference for "fancy" scents (I'm not being posh here but more expensive creams share that scent). So when I got the su:m37 Signature Essence Fine-Moisturizer, I had very high hopes for it, and not only scent-wise.

Si ésta no es la primera de mis entradas que lees, no es ningún secreto que me gusta que los productos de la piel huelan bien, con preferencias a olores "caros" (no estoy siendo snob pero es que todas las cremas que son más caras suelen oler parecido). Así que cuando tuve en mis manos la Signature Essence Fine-Moisturizer de su:m37, tenía las expectativas muy altas, y no sólo respecto al olor.

The su:m37 Signature Essence Fine-Moisturizer was the second product I ever used from su:m37, a very fancy (re: more expensive) South Korean brand that is very famous and which I already talked about in my review for their cleanser. Also note: yes, the glass bottle is broken because it slipped from my hands once into ceramic floor. But it's broken on the inside.

La Signature Essence Fine-Moisturizer de su:m37  fue el segundo producto que usé de la marca su:m37, una marca bastante lujosa de Corea que es muy famosa, de la que ya hablé aquí en la entrada sobre su limpiador. Por cierto nota: sí, el bote está roto porque se me resbaló de las manos y calló en suelo cerámico. Pero sólo está roto por dentro.

The su:m37 Signature Essence Fine-Moisturizer is supposed to be a hydrating essence that "replenishes moisture to the easy-to-dry skin". There are two other types of "signature essence", the D-Purifying to soothe the skin and Full-Energy to reduce the appearance of wrinkles.

La Signature Essence Fine-Moisturizer de su:m37 se supone que es una esencia hidratante que repone la humedad a la pieles que se secan rápido. Hay otros dos tipos de "signature essence", la D-Purifying para calmar la piel y la Full-Energy para reducir la apariencia de las arrugas.

The su:m37 Signature Essence Fine-Moisturizer comes in a sturdy and thick frosty glass bottle of 60ml, which is a fair amount for an essence. The glass bottle is very heavy and even the touch of it feels luxurious. And you might be thinking that how can I say that this is a sturdy bottle when it broke on me, but let me repeat: I dropped it from my hands in ceramic floor and it's only broken on the inside, the outside of the bottle is completely smooth, and any other glass bottle would have broken down into hundreds of pieces if this were to happen. It comes in a cupboard box protected by a thicker cupboard insert, and a leaflet. I also love the details that the top of the (plastic) cap has, and that it's the same for all the su:m37 products.

La Signature Essence Fine-Moisturizer de su:m37 viene en un bote robusto de 60ml de vidrio mate, que la verdad es una cantidad decente de esencia. El bote de vidrio pesa mucho e incluso tocarlo da la sensación de lujoso. Y estaréis pensando, que cómo digo que es robusto cuando se me ha roto, pues sencillo: repito que se me calló de las manos, estando de pie, a un suelo cerámico y se rompió sólo por dentro, la superficie está completamente lisa, y cualquier otro bote de vidrio se hubiera roto en cientos de pedacitos. Viene en una caja de cartón que tiene un refuerzo más gordo, también de cartón, y un panfleto. Me encanta el detalle que hay en el tapón (que es de plástico por cierto), y que lo tienen todos los productos de s:um37.

I love the application system of the su:m37 Signature Essence Fine-Moisturizer, but I'm biased towards dispensers. I also like that it's removable, so once I'm done with the product it's easy to recicle each piece.

Me encanta el formato de la Signature Essence Fine-Moisturizer de su:m37 , pero también es que soy mucho de dispensadores. También me gusta que se pueda quitar, para que una vez terminado el producto sea fácil el reciclar todo.

The leaflet of the su:m37 Signature Essence Fine-Moisturizer contains a lot of interesting information about the brand and what goes behind the product, much more of it in Korean obviously.

That's why I didn't take a photo of the su:m37 Signature Essence Fine-Moisturizer neverending ingredients list, because everything is in Korean, and I couldn't find it online, sadly. The brand claims that it contains a complex of ingredient of 7 different fruits, and from what I can read some of those are: yuja, apple, banana, papaya, raspberry... I also read at the last 1/4 of the list things like damask rose oil, bergamot extract oil... The first ingredient of all of the is purified water and second glycerin. It does contain linalool and limonene at the end of the ingredient list.

It smells as luxurious as I expected it to, with a hint of kind of a lemon-y smell. Very fruity but at the same time very fresh.


En el panfleto del Signature Essence Fine-Moisturizer de su:m37 hay información muy interesante de la marca y lo que hay detrás de las productos, aunque mucho más en coreano obviamente.

Es por eso que no saqué foto a la lista interminable de ingredientes del Signature Essence Fine-Moisturizer de su:m37, porque todo está en coreano, y desgraciadamente no la he podido encontrar online. La marca asegura que contiene un complejo de ingredientes de 7 frutas diferentes, y por lo que pude leer algunas de ellas son: yuja, manzana, plátano, papaya, frambuesa... Hacia el final 1/4 de la lista pude leer cosas como aceite de rosa de damasco, aceite de extracto de bergamota... El primer ingrediente es agua purificada y el segundo glycerin. Decir que más o menos los últimos ingredientes son linalool y limoneno.
Huele como me esperaba pero mejor, con un toque como de limón. Bastante afrutado pero fresco al mismo tiempo.

Being completely honest, I have never been more eager to buy a cosmetic with a high price like this one, until I tried the su:m37 Signature Essence Fine-Moisturizer. However, knowing my luck, it's been long discontinued by the brand and the bottles that can be bought online are sadly the lasts ones.

Siendo completamente sincera, nunca he estado tan dispuesta a comprar un producto con un precio relativamente alto, hasta que probé la Signature Essence Fine-Moisturizer de su:m37. Pero por supuesto, conociendo mi suerte, la marca hace tiempo que lo discontinuado y los que se pueden comprar online son los últimos.

I started using the su:m37 Signature Essence Fine-Moisturizer in summer, as my only moisturizer (essence, serum or cream) in my mornings routines and I loved it. It moisturized my skin without being too heavy at all, in fact it was kind of soothing and calming. Once the cold kicked in, I used it as my moisturizing essence in the same routines, and it was great like that also because since it's very very light weighted, it absorbs into the skin rather fast while providing moisture.

When I used it on its own I had to use 4 pumps, but those became 2-3 pumps when I started using it as an essence, which is really what the product is.


Empecé a usar la Signature Essence Fine-Moisturizer de su:m37 en verano, como mi único humectante (esencia, serum o crema) en mis rutinas diurnas y me encantó. Hidrataba la piel sin que se sintiera pesada para nada, en realidad la calmaba y refrescaba. Una vez que frío llegó, la empecé a usar como esencia hidratante en las mismas rutinas, y era genial también así porque al ser muy ligera, la piel la absorbía relativamente rápido a la vez que aportaba la necesaria hidratación.
Cuando la usaba sola tenía que usar unos 4 "pulsaciones" del dispensador, cuando lo usaba como esencia, que es en realidad lo que es, me era suficiente con 2-3.

Really, I'm so mad the su:m37 Signature Essence Fine-Moisturizer is discontinued, because I feel like it did good to my skin. And don't worry, the "expire date" was  04-12-2017 (day-month-year, just in case). You can still buy it here.

De verdad, estoy bastante picada con lo de que la Signature Essence Fine-Moisturizer de su:m37 esté discontinuada, porque de verdad sentía que le venía muy bien a mi piel. Y no os preocupéis, la fecha de "caducidad" era 04-12-2017 (día-mes-año, por si acaso). Lo puedes comprar todavía aquí.
