Bershka Sunshine Vibes body scrub and body butter: review and opinion

After collecting myself from the initial impression I had learning that Bershka started selling cosmetics, I got kind of excited to see that they sell body scrubs. So after not much thinking, to be completely honest with you all, I bought these two together with the face masks that I already wrote about in this entry.

Bershka offers 3 types of scrubs and body creams. The names are "Sunshine Vibes", "Candy Drops" and "Bloom Paradise". I'm not really a big fan of candy/sweet scents, and being summer I decided to buy the "Sunshine Vibes" (as it is obvious from the photos).


Después de reponerme de impresión que me dio el saber que Bershka había empezado a vender cosméticos, me alegró ver que vendían exfoliantes corporales. Así que después de no mucho pensar la verdad, compré estos dos productos que veis junto con las mascarillas de las que ya hablé aquí.

Bershka ofrece 2 tipos de exfoliantes y de cremas. Los nombres son "Sunshine Vibes" (es una expresión totalmente inglesa, como mejor se me ocurre traducirlo es Vibraciones de sol...), "Candy Drops" (gotas de caramelo) y "Bloom Paradise" (Paraíso de floración... ¿creo?). No soy muy fan de olores a caramelo o dulce, y siendo verano decidí comprar los dos en Sunshine Vibes (como es obvio por las fotos).

Body scrubs and cream are important all year round, but I become specially diligent with them on the summer: if you want to achieve a better tan, and make it last, scrubs once a week to remove dead cells are a must, as well as using hydrating creams everyday to keep skin moisturized.

As I said in the Bershka masks' review, I think their product design/marketing team did an amazing job with these. 

Los exfoliantes y cremas corporales son importantes durante todo el año, pero me vuelvo bastante "estricta" con su uso en verano: si quieres conseguir un moreno mejor y hacer que dure, exfoliarse la piel una vez a la semana para eliminar células muertas es necesario, así como usar cremas todos los días para mantener la piel hidratada.

Como ya dije en la entrada de las mascarillas, creo que el equipo de diseño/markéting ha hecho un trabajo fantástico con estos productos.

The big reason I decided to buy this Bershka Sunshine Vibes sugar body scrub is because it's an affordable sugar scrub, which surprised me. I already wrote briefly about why I consider this a very important matter in this Rituals' review.


La razón de más peso por la que decidí comprar éste exfoliante corporal de azúcar Sunshine Vibes de Bershka es porque es un exfoliante de azúcar asequible a todos los bolsillos, lo que me gustó. Ya escribí porqué considero que esto sea importante en ésta entrada de Rituals.

The Bershka Sunshine Vibes sugar body scrub comes in a 200ml plastic jar with plastic cap. I was really surprised and really like the protective system: I was expecting this to be covered in plastic wrapping, but luckily it just had that plastic lid pressed on the borders, more than enough to ensure non-contamination.


El exfoliante corporal de azúcar Sunshine Vibes de Bershka viene en un tarro de plástico de 200ml con tapa de plástico a rosca. Lo que más me sorprendió, y que me gustó, fue el sistema de protección y embalaje: espera que estuviera cubierto de plástico, pero por suerte sólo tiene la tapa protectora prensada en el borde, de sobra para asegurar la no contaminación.

From the very first time you open the lid, the smell of the Bershka Sunshine Vibes sugar body scrub  is overwhelming, but in a good way.


Desde el primer momento que se abre la tapa, el olor del exfoliante corporal de azúcar Sunshine Vibes de Bershka te va a llegar relativamente fuerte, lo que no quiere decir que sea algo malo.

As it says in the back of the jar, the scent is mouth-watering is great although I was a little disappointed with it because I was expecting a very fresh smell and it's actually a little bit sweater than what I usually like. The scent reminds me of mandarin or orange and peach but muted by flowers. I think it would have been an amazing scent if they would have kept the peach out of it, it gives the product an almost too sweet scent to my absolute liking.


Como dice en el tarro, el olor que hace la boca agua es genial, aunque siendo sincera me decepcionó un poco porque me esperaba un olor muy fresco y la verdad es que es un poco más dulce de lo que normalmente me suele gustar. El olor me recuerda a mandarinas o naranjas y melocotón, pero acallado por flores. Creo que hubiera sido un olor genial si hubieran omitido el melocotón, da una dulzura que es un poco demasiado dulce para que diga que me encanta.

Comparing to other sugar body scrubs I've used, like the ones from Rituals or Yves Rocher, this one feels more like a unit. While those ones are liquid with scrubbing particles, this one is more dense, the ratio scrubbing particles/gel being bigger, so it feels almost creamy when applying it. Not like any is better than the other, but I feel like the first type is more common, so I though it was a good way to compare between the two of them. Since this is a sugar scrub, it is very soft on the skin, even on sensitive skin ones, but better to be light handed with it, since it is so dense.

Comparándolo con otros exfoliantes que he usado, como los de Rituals o Yves Roches, éste parece más "una unidad". Mientras que esos que menciono son más como un producto líquido con partículas exfoliantes, éste es más denso, con el ratio de partículas/gel siendo mayor, por lo que me parece más cremoso al aplicarlo. No es que piense que una forma es mejor que la otra, pero pienso que la primera consistencia es más común y porque tengáis un referente para comparar. Como es un exfoliante de azúcar es muy suave en la piel, incluso en las sensible, pero mejor ir con mano ligera por lo denso que es.

The Bershka Sunshine Vibes body butter was not something I needed, but I decided tu buy it because I like having the scrub and body cream of the same scent.


La manteca corporal Sunshine Vibes de Bershka no era algo que necesitaba, pero la compré porque me gusta tener el exfoliante corporal y la crema de cuerpo con el mismo olor.

The packaging of the he Bershka Sunshine Vibes body butter is almost the same as the scrub's, but it's a taller jar with 250ml instead of 200ml. The brand claims that it is deeply moisturizing shea butter.


El recipiente de la manteca corporal Sunshine Vibes de Bershka es prácticamente igual que el del exfoliante, pero es más alto y con capacidad de 250ml en vez de 200ml. La marca especifica en el tarro que es una manteca de karité intensamente hidratante.

The jar comes packed exactly the same way as the scrub, and I cannot stress enough how much I liked the lack of plastic wrapping. There's already enough plastic in the product itself, so it's very refreshing seeing affordable products that are not packed with useless packaging.


El tarro viene embalado exactamente igual que el exfoliante, y de verdad que no puede expresar lo suficiente cuánto me gusta la ausencia de plástico. Ya hay suficiente plástico en el producto en sí, así que es bastante agradable ver productos asequibles que no están rodeados de embalaje inútil.

The Bershka Sunshine Vibes body butter might seem like well, a butter, on the container but it's really a thick cream (specially if you compare it to actual body butter like the ones from The Body Shop). I'm not a big fan of thick creams but this one is really soft and doesn't take long to be absorbed by the skin. When you're applying it seems like it "stretches" and then start absorbing int the skin. It actually has shea butter in the ingredients very high on the list (3rd ingredient), so it's very gentle with the skin.


La manteca corporal Sunshine Vibes de Bershka puede parecer pues eso, manteca, en el tarro pero es más como una crema gorda (comparando con las manteca corporales de The Body Shop, por ejemplo). No soy muy fan the cremas gordas, pero ésta es muy suave y a la piel no le cuesta mucho tiempo absorberla por completo. Cuando se está aplicando siento como que se "estira" y después empieza a ser absorbida por la piel. Tiene manteca de karité como ingrediente muy alto en la lista (el 3º), así que es suave en la piel.

While both products have the same scent, the Bershka Sunshine Vibes body scrub and body butter has it much more faded, so if you apply both products your skin will smell like it, but it wouldn't be overwhelming. I actually really like applying these two at nights, going to bed after showering and smelling the scent in my bed.


A pesar de que los dos productos tienen el mismo olor, la manteca corporal Sunshine Vibes de Bershka lo tiene mucho más "apagado", así que si se aplican los dos productos la piel olerá a ellos, pero no de una manera abrumadora. La verdad es que me encanta darme estos dos por la noche, irme a la cama después de ducharme y oler la fragancia en la cama.

I also really like that these two stickers are easily removable. The only thing that "bugs" me about these two is that even if it's made in Spain... where's the Spanish in the packaging? English I understand, and should be there because Bershka is sold worldwide, but French? There isn't any need for that. Spanish is the 2nd most spoken language as for native speakers and 4th as a second language. It really rubs me the wrong way this glorification of French/France that cosmetics companies seem to have, but other than that?


Me gusta mucho que las dos pegatinas sean fácilmente despegables. Lo único que no termina de sentarme del todo bien es que, a pesar de que se han fabricado en España... ¿dónde está el castellano en los botes en sí? Entiendo el inglés porque sé como funciona la globalización y Bershka se vende en muchísimos países en el mundo, ¿pero el fráncés? No hay ninguna necesidad. El castellano es el 2º idioma más hablado por nativos, y el 4º para personas que lo tienen como segunda lengua. No me gusta la glorificación de Francia/el francés por muchas compañías de cosméticos, ¿pero aparte de eso?

These are amazing and you should buy them if you don't have products like this! Obviously you're going to run out faster of the cream, so I only use it when I use the scrub and use aftersun for the other days. Using these every week will last you at least for two months, giving that you use it for your whole body. Definitely worth the price.

I just wish the format was different, one you don't have to stick you fingers on, but that's totally personal preference and my fault for having claws for nails under which everything gets stuck.

Another thing worth mentioning, just in case you haven't catch it in the photos, is that these two are vegan an not tested on animals.


Estos dos son productos muy buenos y deberíais probarlos si no tenéis en vuestra posesión parecidos. Obviamente la crema se termina antes, por eso sólo la uso los días en los que me aplico el exfoliante, y el resto de ellos me doy aftersun. Usar estos dos una vez a la semana hará que duren como poco dos meses, dando por hecho que los uséis en todo el cuerpo. Definitivamente valen lo que cuestan.

La verdad es que me gustaría que el formato fuera diferente, que no hubiera que meter la mano, pero eso es algo totalmente personal y la verdad que un poco mi culpa por llevar las uñas tan largas y que se queden bajo las mismas.

Otra cosa que quiero mencionar, por si acaso no lo habéis notado en las fotos, es que los dos son veganos y no testados en animales.
