If you follow any instagram or blog that uploads about korean skincare or makeup, you've probably seen the very much raved about Cosrx Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence. This essence is one of the brand's bestseller, and it became famous because of the mouth-to-mouth, as their company suggest to do for those who like the brand.

The brand claims, as you can see in the package, that it protects skin from moisture loss and keeps skin smooth and healthy, without the use of heavy oils. The Cosrx Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence is designed and created to raise the innate strength of the skin.


Si seguís alguna cuenta de instagram o blog sobre productos de la piel o maquillaje coreanos, seguramente habréis leído sobre el archifamoso Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence de Cosrx. ésta esencia es una de las más famosas de la marca, que se hizo famosa por el boca a boca, tal y como ellos mismos sugieren en su página que se haga si gustan sus productos.

Como se puede leer en la caja, la marca especifica que protege a la piel de sufrir pérdidas de hidratación, mientras que la mantiene suave, lisa, y sana sin utilizar aceites pesados. El Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence de Cosrx está diseñado y creado para aumentar la fuerza innata de la piel.

Contrary to what I experienced (disappointment) with the ingredient list of another "animal" product (the Nature Republic Bee Venom Emulsion here to read the review I did ), the ingredient list of this product is amazingly short and amazingly effective, living up to its name: the first ingredient is "snail secretion filtrate", aka snail mucin. A product actually living up to its name? I love that.


Al contrario de lo que me pasó (decepción) con la lista de ingredientes de otro producto de "animal" (la Bee Venom Emulsion de Nature Republic link aquí para leer su entrada), la lista de ingredientes de éste producto es fantásticamente corta y efectiva, haciendo honor a su nombre: el primer ingrediente es "snail secretion filtrate", vamos, baba de caracol. ¿Un producto que es lo que su nombre sugiere? Me encanta.

Cosrx's Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence comes in a hard plastic bottle of 100 ml of capacity. It comes with a dispenser that is not inserted in production, so you'll know if your bottle has been manipulated. El dispensador no está insertado de fábrica, por lo que se sabe si alguna botella ha sido manipulada. El diseño de la botella puede parecer un poco feo o soso comparándolo con lo que estamos acostumbradas en el mundo de los cosméticos, algo de lo que la misma compañía habla en su página oficial:

The Cosrx Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence can be used as a regular essence but, since it's a very mild one, also as an eye cream. I personally haven't used it like that, but if you find yourself using it also as an eye cream, remember to always tap the area, never rubbing (as it is kindly reminded also in the package). If you have read any of my other reviews, you know I'm crazy about recycling, so when a product comes in such simple yet effective packaging I always mention it. I really appreciate the fact that no useless package was added. Again, this was also thought to reduce the production cost.

Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence de Cosrx se puede utilizar como una esencia pero, como es una muy suave, también se puede aplicar como una crema de ojos. Personalmente no la he utilizado así, pero si lo hacéis, acordaos de nunca estirar la piel de alrededor (tal y como también lo recuerda la marca en la caja). Si habéis leído cualquiera de mis otras entradas, sabéis que me tomo muy en serio lo del reciclaje, por lo que siempre que un producto está embalado simple pero efectivamente, lo menciono. Aprecio mucho el que no se usara ningún embalaje adicional innecesario. Lo que también ayuda a reducir costes en producción y, por lo tanto, a reducir el precio de venta.

The first time I tried the Cosrx Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence, I kid you not, I saw immediate results. I tried a sample, during my night time routine, when I was having a very bad breakout. The following morning, the redness of the breakout was significantly reduced and the smaller ones didn't get any bigger. The first day after I tried it I went crazy online looking for this one, for the one that had the most reasonable prize. Cosrx was not an unknown brand to me, specially with the explosion of positive reviews that appeared during summer 2016 with their One Step Pimple Clear Pads (link). I've been using this essence for about 3 months now, so I have pretty strong opinion on it.

Si os estáis preguntando por la consistencia, sí, es casi igual de viscoso que la baba de caracol. Hasta que me acostumbré a ello, las primeras veces se me hizo un poco complicado el pasar el producto desde la palma de mi mano izquierda con los dedos de la derecha a la cara, pero se pasó enseguida. No lleva mucho tiempo acostumbrarse a algo así.

La primera vez que probé el Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence de Cosrx, de verdad que vi resultados inmediatos. Fue con una muestra, durante mi rutina nocturna, a mediados de verano cuando estaba pasando por un mal bache con la piel. A la mañana siguiente, las rojeces de los granitos se habían reducido significativamente, igual que el tamaño de los más pequeños. Así que me tiré todo el día buscándolo por internet a un precio razonable. Cosrx no era una marca desconocida para mí, especialmente después del aluvión de vídeos, fotos, reviews etc que hubo éste verano de 2016 con sus Step Pimple Clear Pads (link). Lo he estado usando durante unos 3 meses, así que tengo una opinión bastante sólida.

Cosrx Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence is one of the most effective serums, essences and overall products that I have tried. I use it almost always in my night time skincare routine, and it's thanks to it that I haven't had a great breakout (or even a small one) in months. I know it's because of it because it's the only product that I introduced new to my everyday rotation. Two pumps of it provides enough hydration to my oily skin, without feeling uncomfortable when I spread it across my face, as if I am not getting enough for it.

It helps to reduce the inflammation that pimples cause, as well as the size of them. As for the claim of it helping with hyper pigmentation, I honestly haven't feel it. Maybe the reason is because the one I have was caused by past pimples and not because of sun damage, but I haven't noticed a reduction on it.

I think it's really redundant to say that I LOVE Cosrx Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence. It's one of those very few products that I have tried in these past 3 years that it's going to be permanent in my routine. It also makes me want to buy more from the brand (because I have tired samples of some of them), for example, one of the next products I want to buy is their Centella Blemish Cream (that one of my friends recommended to me).

Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence de Cosrx es uno de los serums, esencias y en general productos más efectivos que he probado. Lo uso prácticamente a diario en mi rutina nocturna, y es gracias al mismo por lo que no he tenido ningún mayor problema con los granos (o pequeño problema) en meses. Sé que es en gran parte por ésta esencia porque es lo único significativamente importante que he cambiado en mi rotación de productos. Dos golpecitos del surtidor son suficientes para hidratar por completo mi piel grasa, sin sentir que alguna parte de la cara se está quedando sin suficiente producto.

Ayuda a reducir la inflamación causada por los granitos así como su tamaño. Sobre lo de que ayuda con la hiper pigmentación sinceramente no lo creo. Quizás sea porque mi hiper pigmentación está causada por granos antiguos y no por problemas con el sol, pero no he notado mejoría en las mismas.

Creo que, visto lo visto, es un poco redundante decir que ADORO Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence de Cosrx. Es uno de esos pocos productos que he probado en estos 3 años que se van a quedar permanentemente en mi rutina. Lo que hace que también quiera comprar más cosas de la marca (porque he probado más muestras), por ejemplo, uno de los siguientes productos que quiero comprar es el Centella Blemish Cream (que una de mis amigas me recomendó).
